My 2015 Thirty One days of Halloween Horror film challenge list

Its that time of year again where we celebrate everything that scares the shit out of us during Halloween time. Last year I kind of failed my #31DaysofHorror film challenge halfway through, due to not having my whole film collection with me at that time. But this year, I am solely determined to see it through, without fail, from beginning to end without any excuses. There are a couple of films in the list that I’m seeing for the first time, but most are ones I’m revisiting and it’ll be interesting to re-watch ones I haven’t seen in God knows how long just to see if they still hold up well after all these years.

Here’s my list:

1. Dial M for Murder (1954)

2. Psycho (The 1960 Hitchcock original obviously!)

3. Night of The Living Dead (1968)

4. Dawn of The Dead (The 1978 original from Romero, although the remake by Zach Snyder is also very good)

5. Day of The Dead (1985)

6. Monkey Shines (1988)

7. Fright Night (The 1985 original, the remake with Colin Farrell was a bit sucky)

8. Suspiria (1977)

9. Frankenhooker (1990 – its so bad, its actually genius)

10. Scream (1996 – RIP Wes Craven *sobs*)

11. The Others (2001)

12. Wolf Creek (2005 – don’t travel to the Australian outback on your own. Or just don’t venture out there at all)

13. Switchblade Romance (2003 – its known only as High Tension on Letterboxed. Have no idea why! Probably just decided to use its U.S title, even though this film is French :-/)

14. The Hills Have Eyes (2006 remake)

15. Severance (2006 – the only film where I could probably only tolerate Danny Dyer in)

16. Black Sheep (2006)

17. Kill List (2011 – amazing second feature from Ben Wheatley)

18. Assault on Precinct 13 (1976 original. I like to think there is no remake of this)

19. Ring (1998 – because Japan do horrors best.)

20. Audition (1999 – you’ll think twice about going on a first date after seeing this)

21. The Host (2006 – of course its the korean monster movie and not the OTHER one that we’ll refuse to speak about!)

22. The Skin I Live In (2011 – one of the fucked up films I’ve seen. Naturally I think its a masterpiece!)

23. Red State (2011)

24. The Human Centipede (2009)

25. An American Werewolf in London (1981)

26. 30 Days of Night (2007 – the vampires are absolutely terrifying!)

27. Triangle (2009 – gruesome Groundhog Day on a boat.)

28. Invasion of The Bodysnatchers (1978 remake. The original is also brilliant but I prefer the remake)

29. Repulsion (1965)

30. Sleepy Hollow (1999)

31. Blue Velvet (1986)
