This week saw the return of Star Wars Celebration, four days of celebration for all Star Wars fans across the globe that offers exhibits, screenings, exclusive merchandise, celebrity guests and so much more that celebrates everything we’ve ever loved about this movie phenomenon. This year it arrived in Orlando, USA with the promise bought that we’ll be getting our first look at a teaser trailer for The Last Jedi. Well, what we got yesterday was indeed our first look at a trailer after months of built up anticipation but in addition to that, Disney and Lucasfilm thought they’d truly spoil us by unleashing the most gorgeous poster you could ever lay your eyes on for the film, which you can check out below….
It looks pretty spectacular right!? Not only does it look mightily brooding and seriously dark in its presentation but it also oozes the tone and feel its going for and it brings about all the confidence of what this sequel is all about. I think we should brace ourselves for all the evil stuff that’s about to erupt in the most exciting entry in the long running SW franchise yet..
Its a gorgeous poster while looking a lot less busier than the poster for The Force Awakens and I love that it pays homage to A New Hope. Someone please buy me this so I can proudly hang it on my bedroom wall!
It’s time for the Jedi to end – Luke Skywalker
So here it is, our first sneak peek at Star Wars Episode VIII, a teaser met with so much internet shattering excitement and surrendering every fan to plead to see more. Of course, it may have underwhelmed a few others too but as an unashamedly biased Star Wars fanboy I definitely will be one of the first in line to see it when it opens on midnight.
It clearly wasn’t going to have quite the same overpowering effect like the trailer (s) for The Force Awakens did. This is a continuing story of (mostly) newly introduced characters that directly picks up where Episode VII left all of us hanging. Only this time, they all get pushed into much more deeper turmoil and danger as everything all gets a bit gloomy and Empire-y. The main thing we’re all looking forward to though is Mark Hamill returning back to his most iconic character of Luke Skywalker, no longer just simply a cameo turn as it turned out to be just that in the very final closing scene of TFA.
I love how the trailer poses more questions that we are all dying to know the answers to. But hey, that’s all part of the fun territory that comes with the months ahead of waiting for the next SW film to come out. Could Rey be a reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker? Will she turn to the darkside? Perhaps Rey and Kylo Ren both switch sides? And what does Luke’s last line really mean? Are we to believe that he’s given up on being a Jedi altogether? I have my speculations that Finn wakes up from his coma being more attuned to the force, enforcing him to become ‘The Last Jedi’ where he must confront Rey (if she does happen to be seduced by the dark side of the force) and forced to battle each other in the ultimate climatic duel… Think. About. That.
We’ll won’t know for sure how it all pans out until it gets released here in the UK on the 15th December.
